What happens to the information you enter

The short version: nothing you paste, type, or upload is ever saved. Notes and PDF reports are read once — only to fill in the form — and then discarded. There is no database, no account, no cookies, and no analytics. Your report text is never sent to anyone else.

When you paste a note or fill in the form

The text you paste is sent to the matching engine running on this site's server, which scans it for the clinical facts the form needs (age, diagnosis, markers like IDH and MGMT, prior treatment). The extracted facts are sent straight back to your browser to fill in the form. The note itself is processed in memory and is not written to disk, saved, or logged.

When you upload a PDF

The PDF is sent to the same engine, which needs a temporary file on the server to run text extraction. That file has a unique, random name, exists only for the moment it takes to pull the text out (typically well under a second), and is deleted immediately — whether extraction succeeds or fails. The extracted facts go back to your browser; the PDF and its text are not kept anywhere.

When you run a match

Matching against the built-in trial rules happens entirely on the server; the results go only to your browser.
If you turn on the live ClinicalTrials.gov options, the only thing sent to ClinicalTrials.gov is a generic search — the disease name (for example "glioblastoma") and a country filter. None of your report, form answers, or location is included in that request.
The state you optionally enter is used on the server only to sort trial sites by distance. It is not stored or shared.

What this site never does

No database — there is nowhere for patient information to accumulate.
No accounts, no cookies, no trackers, no analytics scripts.
No request logging of note text, form answers, or uploads.
No sharing or selling of anything, to anyone.

What you can do to protect yourself

The engine only needs clinical facts — it never needs a name, date of birth, address, or medical-record number. Before pasting or uploading a real report, consider removing those identifying details; the match result will be exactly the same without them.

Please remember what this is. This is a student research demonstration, not a hospital system. It is not a HIPAA-covered service and makes no legal guarantees. If you are using someone else's medical information, make sure you have their permission. For maximum privacy you can run the whole tool on your own computer — the code is open and works entirely offline with the demo snapshot.
